Our Mission

Czech Plant Guide exists to provide reliable, locally relevant plant care information for people growing houseplants in the Czech Republic. Generic advice found elsewhere often fails to account for the specific challenges of Czech climate — the dry centrally heated winters, the variable spring weather, and the intense summer heat behind south-facing panelak windows.

We bridge that gap by combining international horticultural research with practical experience gained from growing plants in Czech apartments and homes.

Our Expertise

The content on this site is written and reviewed by experienced indoor gardeners based in Prague and Brno. Our team members have collectively grown houseplants in Czech conditions for over 15 years. We regularly consult peer-reviewed horticultural research and recommendations from institutions including:

How We Create Our Content

Every article on Czech Plant Guide follows a consistent process:

  1. Research: We review the latest guidance from authoritative horticultural sources and cross-reference with scientific literature.
  2. Local testing: Recommendations are tested in real Czech growing conditions before publication.
  3. Expert review: Content is reviewed by at least one team member with hands-on experience specific to the topic.
  4. Regular updates: Articles are revised when new information becomes available or when readers report issues. Each page shows its last update date.

Editorial Independence

Czech Plant Guide is an independent project. We are not affiliated with any plant retailer, garden centre, or product manufacturer. When we mention specific stores or products, it is because we have used them ourselves and found them reliable — not because of any commercial arrangement.
